Areas of Expertise
Professor Guo Zhuming graduated from the Department of Medicine at Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1983 and obtained a Master’s degree in Oncology from the same institution in 1989. Since then, he has dedicated his career to the clinical diagnosis, treatment, and basic research of head and neck tumors at the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center.In 1997, he served as a visiting scholar in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia, where he systematically mastered advanced international surgical techniques.He possesses profound expertise in the field of head and neck malignancies, with particular proficiency in the surgical treatment of thyroid cancer, laryngeal cancer, tongue cancer, malignant breast tumors, and paranasal sinus cancer.He has extensive experience in standardized surgery for head and neck tumors, neck lymph node dissection, function-preserving surgery, and the repair and reconstruction of postoperative defects. He also emphasizes the application of multidisciplinary team (MDT) approaches and is committed to improving patients' quality of life and functional preservation.In recent years, he has published dozens of papers in core domestic and international journals as the first or corresponding author, undertaken multiple national and provincial-level research projects, and received numerous academic awards for his research achievements.
